Supporting children and families to blossom in their everyday play, learning and activities.
Supporting children and families to blossom in their everyday play, learning and activities.
We are a mobile paediatric occupational therapy service providing supports to children (from 2-12 years) and their families living across the Geelong, Bellarine Peninsula and Surf Coast regions of Victoria.
At Ocean Grove Occupational Therapy, we believe that working together as a team is the best way to support your little one to grow, develop and to do the things that they need and want to do each day! .
As a mobile service, we also believe that your little one will learn best in the places that are most familiar to them - their home, education setting (child care / kindergarten / school) and their local community; this is why we travel to you!
Shona Hanley
Occupational Therapist / Director
Shona is an AHPRA registered Occupational Therapist, having completed her Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (Honours) at Monash University in 2015. She has loved working as a Paediatric Occupational Therapist since this time and has found a passion in working to support children and families to blossom. Shona has many years of experience working with children from 2-12 years with varying developmental needs and from different cultural backgrounds. Shona has gained experience working as an occupational therapist across the Mornington Peninsula, Melbourne, Geelong, the Bellarine Peninsula and the Surf Coast areas throughout her career.
Shona truly believes that every child already has their own set of incredible strengths, skills and an authentic and individual little personality! Shona loves to work with children, caregivers and other important people in the child's life (such as their educators) to support them to become more independent and engaged in daily activities that are meaningful and important to them.
Shona feels that all children have the right to discover their true sense of self and to feel that they belong, making inclusion an important value in her work in supporting children and families. Shona would describe her approach as gentle, strengths-based, neurodiversity- affirming and family-centred.

Ocean Grove Occupational Therapy currently provides occupational therapy services to NDIS participants with either a 'self-managed' NDIS plan or 'plan-managed' NDIS plan.
We will request that you provide us with a copy of your current NDIS plan in full as part of our intake process, to ensure that we are able to provide services through the correct type of plan and to ensure that we are the right service to support you and your child to reach your goals.
We follow the NDIA Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits (previously referred to as the 'Price Guide'). Travel costs are determined based on the time that it takes to visit the occupational therapy session location. All session costs are clearly documented in the service agreement that the Occupational Therapist will go through with you as part of the intake process.
CHRONIC DISEASE MANAGEMENT (CDM) PLAN
We can provide services under a Medicare Chronic Disease Management plan. This is a plan that allows you to claim a Medicare rebate for Allied Health Services, such as Occupational Therapy for a total of 5 sessions per calendar year.
Your General Practitioner (GP/Doctor) can discuss whether your child is eligible to access this plan; it is available to persons with a health or developmental difficulty that is likely to last for more than 6 months.
We also provide short-term services such as assessments and brief intervention for private fee-paying clients. We currently charge the same hourly rate for service as that advised in the NDIS price guide, for all clients. The current hourly rate is $193.99 as at May, 2024. Please contact us to discuss pricing.
